Getting married is a big thing, especially when it involved the families of India's rich and powerful politicians.
All eyes were on the wedding of Lalit Tanwar and Yogita Jaunapuria that was said to have cost over 55mil rupees (RM3.7mil), the Mail Today reported.

The Times of India, however, calculated the cost as one billion rupees (RM67.37mil).

While the bride is the daughter of Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuria – a former legislative assemblyman.

The ceremony on Tuesday saw some 30,000 guests tucking into 100 vegetarian dishes at Jaunapuria's farm at Jaunapur village.
The families made sure that the wedding will remain etched in people's memory for years to come.
Jaunapuria had also presented Lalit a helicopter, worth about US$5mil (RM15mil), as a wedding gift.
He reportedly told the Indian Express: "True, a Bell 429 helicopter was given but it was a simple wedding."
Tanwar, however, told The Times of India: "Jaunapuria had only proposed to give the chopper, but I turned down the proposal.
"I can't manage it. You have to spend a huge amount to operate and maintain a chopper," he said.
The week-long celebrations that began last Friday, will continue with another reception on Thursday.
The final gathering will be held on Sunday at Delhi's Ashok Hotel to be attended by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Bollywood stars such as Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai.
