What should have been a happy occasion turned into a tragedy when 10 armed teenagers barged into a wedding reception in Quezon City, Philippines over the weekend and shot dead the groom's father, after robbing the newlyweds and their guests of their valuables.
A police spokesman said the suspects were estimated to be between 15 and 17 years old.
The fatality was identified as Reynaldo Andres Jr. The spokesman said the robbers gate-crashed the wedding party at around 1am in Barangay Payatas.
Wearing bonnets and armed with knives and guns. The suspects declared the hold-up as soon as they entered a house on Atis Street where a party was in progress.
Based on witness accounts, some of the guests were spared when they were able to get out of the house.
The groom tried to stop the robbery, but the suspects turned on him instead.
Police said they have yet to establish the identities of the suspects.
