SERDANG: Having confirmed that it was indeed her boyfriend who was killed last month, a heartbroken 22-year-old decided to end her life.
The woman jumped from a condominium here yesterday after DNA test confirmed that the charred body found in a burnt car last month was her boyfriend.
The woman was found sprawled on the ground floor of the Koi Tropika Condominium, Jalan Puchong here at 5.50pm, just as her boyfriend's funeral rites concluded.
She had walked 500m from the Batu 14, Jalan Puchong Hindu cemetery to the condominium before plunging to death.
Serdang district police chief Superintendent Abdul Razak Elias said she was depressed for the last month, after the boyfriend's body was found.
"There was no foul play," he said.The boyfriend, K. Yogendran, 27, was found in a burnt Proton Waja at Km20 of the Kuala Lumpur-Rawang road on May 28.
At that time, police had taken samples from the body and his parents to run a DNA analysis and the results on Thursday confirmed the charred remains were that of Yogendran.
Razak said the couple had been living together for the past year.The case has been classified as sudden death.
The body of the woman, who was from Bukit Mertajam, was sent to Serdang Hospital for post-mortem.
It was learnt that she had received a scholarship for her studies and had just graduated. - NST
