PETALING JAYA: A Filipina maid was found murdered in her employer’s home at Jalan Gasing 5/5D near here.
The employer discovered the victim’s body in her bedroom at 11.45pm on Saturday upon returning home after dinner.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Arjunaidi Mohamed said police believed the murderer was known to the 36-year-old victim as there was no sign of a break-in.
The victim had been working as a maid at the house for the past nine years.
Initial police forensics unit findings showed the victim, who was fully clothed, had bruise marks on her neck which suggest that she had been strangled.
There was also blunt force trauma marks to the back of her head.
“Several items have been reported missing,” he said.
No suspect has been identified so far.
The victim’s body was sent to the University Malaya Medical Centre for post-mortem.
There have been several cases of maid murders in the past year.
On June 5, an Indonesian maid died while under the care of her employers at their home in Sea Park. It is believed the 26-year-old may have been starved to death.
The victim’s two employers have been charged in court.
On Jan 1, a Myanmar woman and her Myanmar maid were murdered at their home in Taman Malim Permai, Malacca. Four men have been detained over the murders.
