Dr Lo’ Lo’ Ghazali is expected to be buried at the Datuk Keramat Muslim cemetery
KUALA LUMPUR: Titiwangsa member of parliament Dr Lo' Lo' Ghazali died of cancer at Selayang Hospital last night.
Pas vice-president Salahuddin Ayub confirmed that the 53-year-old first-term MP died at 10.13pm after a long battle with the disease. Her death, however, will not trigger a by-election as it comes after the April 28 cut-off date set by the Election Commission.
Dr Lo' Lo', a Pas central committee member, was born on Aug 2, 1957, in Kuala Kangsar, Perak. She was the daughter of former Perak mufti Datuk Mohd Ghazali Abdullah and had worked in a government hospital for six years before leaving for private practice.
She is survived by her husband, Associate Professor Dr Aminuddin Abd Hamid Karim, four children (Mawaddah, Muhd Fawwaz, Sakinah and Muhd Farhan) and a grandchild (Izz Nu'man).
At press time, her body was at the hospital's mortuary while arrangements are being made to bring it to Masjid Al-Akram in Datuk Keramat for burial at the Datuk Keramat Muslim cemetery.
She was the fifth elected representative from Pas to have died after the general election. - NST
