REMBAU: An employee at the Pedas-Linggi toll plaza had a close brush with death when the entire booth was destroyed after the edge of a container being hauled by a prime mover brought down the structure as the driver drove off after paying the toll.

It is understood that in the 9pm incident on Wednesday, the edge of the container got caught in the toll booth and the force of the acceleration brought down the structure.

Toll worker  Siti Maslinda Sabyumin, 35, who was on duty at the time in the fourth toll lane (north-bound), managed to dash out quickly.

However, she suffered injuries to her face and hands and was taken to  Seremban Hospital.

The 34-year-old driver was on his way to send a shipment of fibre from Kluang, Johor, to Port Klang, Selangor, and had decided to drop by his house in Rantau, near here.
