KUALA LUMPUR: Pos Malaysia Bhd is issuing a collection of stamps and first-day cover to commemorate the installation of the 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah.
Three pictures in the collection are the portrait of Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah in his official installation attire, a portrait of him as head of the armed forces and portrait of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah in their official attires.
The stamps are available in 60-sen, 80-sen, and RM1 denominations and printed in red, blue and yellow, representing the colours of the Jalur Gemilang.
A unique feature in the collection is the 140mm x 75mm miniature sheet sheet, priced at RM5. It features a gold stamping and gold printing.
The sheet depicts the reproduction of previous stamps issued to commemorate Tuanku Abdul Halim's first installation as the fifth Yang di-Pertuan Agong and his second term as the 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
The ruler is the first to be appointed Yang di-Pertuan Agong for a second time.
The stamps go on sale on Thursday with first-day covers at 50 sen. Folders at RM5.50 each are available at selected outlets.
Pos Malaysia Stamp and Philately Unit chief Yasmin Ramli said stamp enthusiasts could register for a standing order deposit account to receive their stamps and philatelic products by mail on the day of issue. - NST
